Amazon MQ is a managed message broker for Apache ActiveMQ and RabbitMQ. It’s the migration path for applications that already use standard messaging protocols and can’t easily switch to SQS/SNS.
MQ vs SQS/SNS
Choose SQS/SNS for new cloud-native apps (AWS-native, fully managed, massive scale). Choose Amazon MQ when you’re migrating an existing app that relies on industry-standard protocols like JMS, AMQP, or MQTT and you want minimal code change. The tell is “existing ActiveMQ/RabbitMQ” or “standard messaging protocols.”

Correct answer: B. Amazon MQ is a managed ActiveMQ/RabbitMQ broker supporting standard protocols like JMS, so existing apps migrate with little change. SQS (A) and SNS (C) are AWS-native and would require rewriting; Kinesis (D) is for streaming.
