Cloud Map is a service-discovery tool. It keeps an up-to-date registry of your application’s services and their locations, so components can find and connect to each other dynamically as they scale.

The tell

In microservices, backend instances come and go. Cloud Map lets services look up healthy endpoints by name instead of hard-coding IPs. The tell is “service discovery” for dynamic microservices. It underpins ECS service discovery.
